This effort consisted of the upgrade and delivery of the AV-8B+ RNAWST Device 2F150A to MCAS Cherry Point, North Carolina,
along with associated documentation, spares, and support. The 2F150A upgrade included elements such as incorporation of a new PC-based image
generator, use of updated out-the-window visual projectors, and upgrades to the aural cueing/communications system.
The 2F150A trainer, which builds on the legacy of Indra's Device 2F150C upgrade,
is the most advanced AV-8B+ flight trainer delivered to date, incorporating accurate modeling of all
aspects of the actual aircraft. Of particular significance is the change from simulated night vision goggle (NVG) compatibility to stimulated
NVG compatibility, thus allowing aircrew to train with real NVG hardware rather than the training goggles used prior to the modification.
To achieve the stimulated solution, Indra initiated work with the U.S. Navy, the display system subcontractor, and the U.S. Air Force Research
Laboratory to ensure that our solution met the AV-8B U.S. Navy requirements and that this design was also applicable to other platforms.
