USMC AV-8B+ Multitask Trainer, Device 15A23
Indra's Multi-Task Trainer (MTT), originally developed for use by U.S. Marine Corps AV‑8B pilots as Device 15A23, is designed to provide students a thorough understanding of the operation and features of the AN/APG‑65 Radar and associated aircraft systems. It is an inexpensive alternative to radar training on full mission simulators or actual aircraft. Versatile and portable, it provides a convenient, highly effective means to introduce, demonstrate, and practice operational procedures; reinforce learning by repetition; increase the proficiency and confidence of the pilot; monitor, measure, and evaluate pilot performance as an aid to current and future training in both the simulator and the aircraft; and develop and evaluate tactics in a risk-free environment.
The Multi-Task Trainer is a portable desktop device, quickly and easily assembled and disassembled. Indra has recently developed a third-generation version of the MTT device through internal research and development, providing a greatly reduced logistics footprint, smaller form factor, and improved capabilities such as built-in HLA networking capability. The design is also capable of supporting other aircraft platforms and training requirements.
