MH-53E Operational Flight Trainer Upgrade, Device 2F141
This effort was to develop, manufacture/replace, install, integrate, validate, test, and deliver the hardware, software, and documentation for the Trainer Modernization program for the MH‑53E Operational Flight Trainer (OFT), Device 2F141, located aboard NAS Norfolk, Virginia. Device 2F141 is the only MH‑53E OFT operated by the U.S. Navy. This upgrade addressed operational validation discrepancies to include replacement of the hydraulic control loader with a digital control loader, an Instructor/Operator Station (IOS) upgrade, image generator replacement, new visual databases, visual display system replacement (including a chin window solution), computer rehost, and incorporation of the Tactical Environment Network (TEN).
